Adam Lambert “American Idol” Judge? Lambert Courted to Replace Simon Cowell on “Idol”

In news that we’ll have to see to believe, American Idol Season 8 runner-up Adam Lambert is the latest contender joining the race to replace Simon Cowell on the judges’ panel of television’s most-watched talent show.

After wowing Idol producers with his quick wit and biting critiques as a mentor on last week’s Elvis-themed special, we hear the controversial glam rocker is being eyed as a possible replacement for the man the media dubbed Mr. Nasty. In fact, show bosses believe the “For Your Entertainment” hitmaker has just the right mix of moxie to be a dynamic asset to the series.

A loose-lipped A.I. insider divulges to nosy National Enquirer Gossip Guy Mike Walker (Consider The Source!): “Producers were totally bowled over by Adam’s on-target critiques and pithy comments. They believe he’ll bring a fearless, youthful freshness to the show. And let’s not forget, Glambert’s got real stage presence.”

Before any Glambert Fans start jumping with glee, we should mention that the outspoken star has stiff competition from other seasoned entertainers also rumored to be up for Simon’s job: they include: Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx, singer Shania Twain, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, an acclaimed producer, and music mogul Tommy Mottola.

Simon will wrap up his nine season run on Idol next month to devote his time to developing an American adaptation of his UK small screen smash The X Factor.

(Has anyone else noticed that these two look so similar they could be father and son? Just look at the shape of the face, the nose, the hairline. Hmm...)

  1. ADAM has the best voice of the current generation. ADAM should be a ROCK STAR!!!! I love ADAM and want him to be happy. Whatever makes BB happy makes this good Lambskank happy. However, it would break my heart for BB to not tour or make new music. :0(

  3. I think Adam would be simply Fabulous as a judge on AI. Is he experienced enough? Well, probably not but he does have a natural knack for the industry. Will it actually come to be? I guess we will all just have to wait and see. If he is, I will surely continue watching!

  4. If I could see Adam every week as judge I'd love it! He's been the only celebrity mentor to actually be critical so far this season. It's true, his wit and tenacity would be a good replacement for Simon.

But seriously... SHANIA TWAIN as a possible replacement?! If Shania becomes an AI judge I will stop watching. End of story. The judges panel would be insufferably boring without Simon and with Shania.

  5. Do people really decide to watch/not watch the show because of who the judges are? I've only watched AI this season, but I figured the show is to give people like Crystal a shot at making it in the music world. I seriously doubt I'll ever watch AI again, but if I do, for all I care, they can replace Simon with a monkey. Also, it sorta seems this post is off-topic (?)

  6. I said this at the beginning of the season when it was announced that this would be the last for Simon, that this is the death of this show. If this is not the last season, then I only foresee one, maybe two, more after this.

  7. My family loves Simon because he tells it like it is. He is a screwd, ambitious man with a good eye for talent. I hope they replace him with a seasoned professional who can offer sage advice to these young performers. Adam Lambert has his whole future ahead of him, and he needs to focus on his music and his fans. A more experienced judge, maybe one of the "music greats" who still resides in Hollywood/surrounding areas, who is able to travel when necessary, would be perfect!

  9. I do agree, Simon does have a great eye for talent, does this mean he can be so rude, so cruel, so very hateful toward people who do not have what he has in this world, so much, that he has to hurt another humans feelings, NO! He judegs what they wear, how they fix their hair, what color cloths they should wear, this is NOT a damn fashion show...he wants to talk down to people who are getting in front of billions of people, who are working so very hard to make their dream come true, then, (best keep my opinion to myself, it's so not good). Karma Simlon, all I am going to say, Karma. I wish they would make Shania the judge in his place. Doesn't he have his own UK people to insult? We do not need him in AMERICA! He wonders why so very many to his lil tiny bit of fans he does have, hate his ways so much. Simon, you want to be a hero? STOP being so damn mean! Learn how good it feels to be nice! Ya know, it's not so bad.....Shania, I really think you should be the new judge on the show. Crystal Bowersox, My all best to you, I have never had so much faith in a rising star as I do with you, I relate with you alot...you will win, and I will be behind you for a very long time....Melissa Etheridge is a fan of yours, check todays The View.....YOU ROCK!
